How does paying with Klarna work in the app?
When you select Klarna in the app, it uses Klarna’s "Pay now" feature. The payment is deducted immediately from your connected payment card or bank account via direct debit (where available). It is an immediate payment method, not a loan or a "Pay Later" arrangement.
Does linking Klarna or paying for parking affect my credit score?
No, linking your Klarna account or paying for parking will not impact your credit score. Klarna does not perform hard credit inquiries for these transactions. Depending on how you pay, Klarna may run a soft check to confirm your identity or authorize your card, which has zero effect on your credit rating.
For more details on credit checks in your region, visit the Klarna website for your country (klarna.com) and search for credit check information under their Klarna Help Center.
Which payment cards or bank accounts can I use with Klarna?
Supported cards: Visa and Mastercard are accepted.
Direct debit: Bank account direct debit is supported in select markets, such as Sweden and Germany.
Unsupported payment methods: American Express and Discover are not accepted.
Why was my Klarna payment declined or rejected?
Klarna performs an automated check for each transaction based on its own security and eligibility criteria. Common reasons for a declined payment include:
Market location: Your Klarna account is registered in a different country from where you are parking.
Verification required: Klarna requires an updated identity check (such as a selfie or photo ID scan).
Card or bank details: Your linked card has expired, or a recent update to your bank details is still processing (which can take 3–5 business days).
Klarna account status: Your Klarna account is temporarily locked or suspended.
Note: Our customer support team cannot view the specific reason for Klarna’s rejection or manually override Klarna’s decision. If your payment is declined, you can switch to another payment method in the app to complete your session.
I see a charge from "EasyPark" on my Klarna app that I don't recognize. What should I do?
Parking charges are typically processed once a day (around midnight). If you completed multiple parking sessions in a single day, Klarna may group those charges together into one daily total.
To verify a charge:
Open the app and check your parking history to see if the session dates and totals match the charge.
Check your email for receipts sent for those parking sessions.
Check if anyone else in your household who shares the account was parking.
If you still cannot identify the charge, you can report it directly through the customer support chat in the Klarna app.
Klarna says I owe money after parking. Is my parking session still valid?
Yes, your parking session remains valid. If a daily automated charge fails (for example, due to insufficient funds in a direct debit account), you can review and settle any outstanding amounts directly within the Klarna app.
