Riding through the city should be about freedom, not worrying about parking logistics. While EasyPark makes parking your motorcycle as simple as parking a car, a few "pro-rider" tips can help you snag the best rates and avoid technical hiccups.
Getting Started: Your Digital Kickstand
Adding your bike to the app is a breeze. Follow these steps to get road-ready:
Add Your Plate: Navigate to Menu > Vehicles and enter your motorcycle’s license plate. It works exactly like adding a car.
Toggle with Care: Before you "spin the wheel" to start a session, double-check that your motorcycle is the active vehicle. The app won't automatically know you're on two wheels instead of four.
Paying the Right Price
Many cities and operators offer discounted rates or dedicated zones for motorcycles. Don't leave money on the table!
Check the Signs: Local operators set the rules. Look for the motorcycle symbol on street signs—these often indicate specific motorcycle-only zones with lower tariffs.
The Area Code Secret: In some cities, motorcycles use a different area code than cars, even on the same street. This "motorcycle-only" code is the key to unlocking discounted rates.
Verify the Tariff: Before confirming, ensure the zone name and price displayed in the app match what’s on the physical sign.
Important: Motorcycles & Camera Parking (ANPR)
While you can enable automatic camera parking (ANPR) for your motorcycle, we recommend extra caution.
The Challenge: Most garage cameras are calibrated for front-facing or large rear plates. Because motorcycle plates are smaller and only on the rear, cameras occasionally fail to "see" you enter or exit.
Our Advice: It is not advisable to rely solely on camera parking for motorcycles. To be 100% sure your session starts and stops correctly, start your session manually in the app the moment you arrive.
Pro-Tip: In Stockholm, resident parking for motorcycles is significantly cheaper—often reduced to just a quarter of the cost compared to a car. To secure this discount, don't forget to use the specific area code for bikes (e.g., "Resident Ö" for MC) in the EasyPark app!
