This guide is designed to be your protective shield, helping you stay one step ahead of scammers and keeping your account secure.
How to Spot a Scam
At EasyPark, your security is our top priority. We are aware of phishing attempts (via SMS, email, and even fake QR codes) that impersonate us to steal sensitive information. Here is how to tell the difference between a real message and a scam.
1. Phishing via SMS (SMiShing)
Scammers often send urgent texts about "unpaid parking" or "account suspension" with a link to a fake payment page.
The Reality: EasyPark never sends clickable links in an SMS to request payment or sensitive info from private customers.
What to look for: Legitimate SMS messages from us will clearly show "EasyPark" as the sender and will always direct you to open the app or use our official web app.
2. Phishing via Email
You might receive an email claiming you’ve "paid an invoice twice" and offering a refund link.
The Reality: This is a common scam. We do not send refund links or requests for bank details via email.
Exceptions: If you are a business customer, our partner Visma Amilia sends invoices from
no-reply@amili.no. If you use invoice as a private user, you may receive a link to our partner Riverty.
3. Fake QR Codes
Scammers sometimes place stickers with fraudulent QR codes on parking meters.
The Reality: Official EasyPark QR codes will either take you directly into the EasyPark app if you have it installed or to the official Apple/Google app stores.
Protect yourself: If a QR code takes you to a website asking for your credit card details immediately, close the page.
What to do if you clicked a link
If you’ve accidentally shared information or clicked a suspicious link:
Contact your bank immediately: They can freeze your card and prevent unauthorized transactions.
Reset your password: If you entered your login details, change your EasyPark password immediately. If you use that same password elsewhere, change it there too.
Report it: You can report the scam to the authorities (such as the police) and notify us so we can warn others.
How to safely check for payments
The safest place to manage your account is always inside the app:
Open the EasyPark app.
Go to Menu > Activity.
If there is an outstanding balance, you will see a clear notification. You can update your payment method directly under Menu > Payment.
